A
number of people suffer from jaw joint and/or bite
related conditions. These can include difficulty in
opening, discomfort on chewing, pain in facial muscles,
headaches and pain or noises from the jaw joints themselves.
Gary Painter has a special interest in this field and
has undertaken some further education at the Pankey
Institute in Florida, to help treat these and other
dental problems.
Patients with these
types of complaints as well as people requiring more
complex treatments are often offered our full comprehensive
treatment planning package which includes detailed
records of study models, full mouth x-rays and photographs.
This enables us to formulate an appropriate treatment
plan, tailored to the patient’s wants
and needs. This is fully discussed at a further consultation
and followed up with a detailed, written plan.
We have had a lot
of success in the past treating bite related problems
and often receive referrals from other dental practices.
