Dental Implants

A modern solution for missing teeth

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Losing a tooth or teeth can affect your self-confidence and chewing ability. We can offer you a solution at Clarence Dental Practice.

What Are Dental Implants:

Dental implants are small precision engineered titanium cylinders that act as a ‘root’ for your replacement tooth. Titanium is used because of its ability to naturally bond with the jaw bone and create an extremely stable foundation for your replacement tooth. They look, feel and perform really well like a natural tooth and are long lasting. They can be used to support a custom-made single tooth, bridges or stabilise loose dentures.

Once your titanium ‘root’ has bonded and healed (integrated) your replacement tooth, bridge or denture can be expertly fabricated to attach to the implant.

Dental implants require the same kind of care as your natural teeth. They require good oral hygiene practices, as plaque can still form on them like it does on the rest of your teeth. If plaque is not removed regularly, it can irritate your gums and cause gum disease or even infection (peri-implantitis) around the implant.

Dental implants may require several visits to complete (surgical and restorative steps). Your dentist will advise you of each step of the process in your consultation.
