What is preventative care?
To ensure optimal dental health, we place our focus on preventative care for you and your family. We aim to achieve this through seeing you regularly for assessment, advice, education and building relationships to ensure that your dental health is maintained not just for today, but tomorrow and the future.
Your continuing care examination (6 Monthly Check-Up) will include our minimum
12 Point Dental Examination Checklist:
- MEDICAL HISTORY UPDATE - Health conditions and current medication review
- EXTRAORAL EXAMINATION - Face and neck assessment
- JAW JOINTS (TMJ) - Clicks, tenderness, headaches and all jaw movements
- TEETH - Decay, areas of wear, tooth colour, aesthetics and overall health
- GUMS - Condition and presence of disease and oral hygiene assessment
- BITE - We examine for signs of wear, grinding, clenching or instability.
- PREVIOUS DENTAL WORK - check for health, function, aesthetics and stability
- ORAL CANCER SCREENING - examination of the soft tissues including tongue, cheeks, lips, floor and roof of mouth
- DIGITAL X- RAYS - (less radiation used) - As clinically necessary and report on findings
- COSMETIC, ORTHODONTIC or IMPLANT- Discussion of options
- CLARENCE DENTAL HEALTH PLAN ASSESSMENT
- TREATMENT PLAN and WRITTEN ESTIMATE (if required)
